This is a very typical dish for breakfast in the Souther states in America. It is a good balance between sweet and savoury.


Biscuits Mix all dry ingredients together and sift. Cut in the butter or shortening until the dough forms very tiny balls. Slowly add the butter milk untill it is the right consistency. (should not be wet, but should not be dry) Once dough is formed put onto floured surface and use enough flour so that the dough does not stick to the surface or your hands. Flatten dough out until thin then fold over one way and then the other. Repeat this process of flattening and folding at least 3 times, but be careful not to do it to many times because the dough will become to firm. once folded, flatten to about 1 inch think and cut with a mold or knife. Put into a pre-heated 350 degree oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Gravy Saute any kind of sausage you like until cooked. Add butter and melt then add flour to form a rue. once rue is formed whisk in milk until The gravy is a consistency you like.
